King Lion Corner - September 2010DISTRICT GOVERNOR Lion Dennis Brining August 19th visit. On his first visit to our Club. District Governor Brining presented his vision on what will be necessary to change the downward retention and what is necessary to further recruitment and retention. He advised that all should have received and read the District Strategic Plan, available at www.valions.org, which lays out the objectives for this year to build a strong team of leaders who are to raise the standards of leadership, increase membership through recruitment, club expansion, new club development, and enhance retention so that membership will grow by 2% annually, which is a +37 net growth for this year. To accomplish the objectives, Gov. Brining advised that the District will be hosting a series of workshops in 4 geographical locations and be completed in approximately 4 hours. All participants will receive a CEP workbook filled with LCI resources and ideas on strengthening their Club. In addition, at the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to take the process back to their individual clubs. The Governor went on to state that given the importance of this program to the health of our District, he is looking to have all Cabinet Members, Zone Chairs, Club Presidents, Secretaries and/or their assignees attend the workshop on Oct 3, 2010 in one of the following geographical areas which for our area is as yet unidentified. In closing he asked for support as he could not meet the objectives unless we all pulled together. |
