King Lion Corner - January 2012

First, I want to again welcome our new member Lion Jerry Folks and we will also be inducting Merrit Burkhart this month.  These two fine individuals will not only make our club stronger, but will allow our club to provide more wonderful service to the community.  As you see them at our meetings, make them feel welcome and show them why we are the best club in the District.

A few messages this month:  1) we have added three members, but will probably be dropping a few and we need to grow.  Again, I challenge each of you to look over your friends, co-workers, neighbors, or someone you think is service-minded and would be a great addition to our club.  We can only provide GREAT service with GREAT membership!; 2) we need volunteers to step up to lead the club!  Lion Carl Wiberg is the chairman of our nominations committee and the future of our club relies on strong leadership!  Please let Lion Carl know if you can step up into a board position next year :); 3) we are in the home stretch of fundraisers.  Lion Dave Richardson (mulch) and Lion Bob Hunt (White Cane) will need your support in the upcoming months.  Lets finish with a bang and continue to bring in money to fund our GREAT service to the community!; 4) Lion Curt Johnson and Lion Bill Minchin need 100% participation in the visitation program.  If you haven't made a visit, see them at a meeting to get an assignment. Visitation provides an excellent opportunity to share fellowship with other clubs and share insights on making EACH club BETTER as we learn from each other!; and 5) please remember that if you are attending the District Winter Conference to let Lion Cliff know.  It is focused on hands-on service and should be a VERY rewarding experience!

Thanks again for allowing me to lead such a wonderful club.  It is truly an honor!
