Winter 2011 - This is the season where two big Holidays come one on top of the other. During this time The Aquia Harbour Lions are busy putting together Thanksgiving baskets and setting up for the arrival of Christmas trees. We have many social programs that are supported during November and December. We prepare Thanksgiving boxes full of needed food for the holiday to deliver to families throughout the area. Many of the families come to us through SERVE, this has been an annual event that we have supported for twenty some years. Then there is the Special Needs Christmas party that has been a program that the Lions have put on for over 60 special needs adults. And there is the Christams tree sale that, with the help of the Leo club, is an annual tradition. Over 230 trees are delivered, with the site set up and readied, the Lions begin their 3 weeks of selling trees to the public. All proceeds go to the local community.
